Wander. Dream. Create - About Arumi Nomad
Welcome to Arumi Nomad, a space where journeys become stories, retreats become transformations, and mindfulness is not a moment, but a way of life.
The Beginning of the Journey
My journey began not in a straight line, but in winding paths of curiosity and exploration. Born into a world of cultural fusion and spiritual inquiry, I found myself drawn to the spaces between—between nations, between belief systems, between the past and what could be. This fascination became a lifestyle, one that has taken me across continents, through ancient traditions, and into the hearts of communities worldwide.
Rooted in the sacred Mayan energy of the Enlazador de Mundos—the Worldbridger—my life and work are guided by a single mission: to bridge worlds. Not just geographical or cultural ones, but the unseen worlds between people, between belief systems, and most importantly, between the self and the heart.
Rather than merely observing from the outside, I step fully into the worlds I encounter—living, learning, and honoring them from within. Each retreat, every written word, and all the spaces I hold are invitations for others to witness the beauty of human diversity and to remember the one belief that transcends all differences: to believe in yourself, and to believe in love.
In weaving together traditions, healing practices, and stories from across the globe, I don’t seek to create a new belief system—I seek to dissolve the illusion of separation. The world is already whole. My work is to remind you of that wholeness.
Mindfulness: The Thread That Connects It All
Throughout my travels, one element kept surfacing: the quiet but profound power of mindfulness. Not as a trend, but as a time-honored key to presence, healing, and clarity.
This personal practice deepened over the years, eventually giving rise to my trilogy of mindfulness-focused books: Meditation A-Z, Meditation & Cancer, and The Act of Now. Each of these books represents a milestone in my evolution—not just as a writer, but as a human committed to living with intention.
• Meditation A-Z serves as a holistic and accessible guide to building a personal meditation practice, even for those who feel they “can’t meditate.”
• Meditation & Cancer is a deeply intimate offering, created in collaboration with survivors and practitioners, to provide a mindful approach to navigating illness with dignity and hope.
• The Act of Now calls on readers to reclaim the only time that truly exists—the present. It explores how daily rituals, attention, and breath can anchor us in our truth amidst chaos.
Through these works, my aim has always been clear: to make mindfulness a living, breathing companion in people’s everyday lives.

Retreat Curator & Cultural Alchemist
Creating immersive, healing spaces is at the heart of what I do. Over the past decade, I’ve curated over 20 retreats across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, blending mindfulness with local wisdom, sacred rituals, and creative exploration.
Each retreat is designed with one intention: to allow participants to reconnect—with themselves, with each other, and with the land that holds them.
Some of the most transformative experiences include:
• The Sacred Silence Retreats in Nepal – where we practice noble silence and reconnect with nature’s rhythm.
• Creative Alchemy Circles in Mexico – combining storytelling, Medicine music, and journaling to unlock inner creativity.
• Healing Journeys in the Amazon of Colombia – guided by indigenous elders and rooted in ancient Amazonian cosmology.
No retreat is ever the same. Because the people change. The land changes. We change.

Writing as Ritual
For me, writing is not a task. It is a practice, a meditation, and a form of service.
In addition to my mindfulness trilogy, my body of work includes essays, poems, and reflective guides published in wellness journals and independent anthologies. My writings weave together ancestral wisdom, lived experiences, and contemplative practices that speak to the soul.
Writing allows me to articulate the ineffable—to give shape to silence and story alike. Whether you’re reading my books or my blog, know that every word is offered with the intention of connection and transformation.
Living Between Worlds
Many people ask where I live. The truth? I live between worlds.
While I am currently based between Lisbon and Kyoto, my heart belongs to the earth. I thrive in transience, in that sacred space where cultures meet and traditions intermingle.
I draw inspiration from indigenous rituals in Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Zen aesthetics in Japan, desert mysticism in Morocco, and the profound warmth of Southeast Asian hospitality. My lifestyle is a practice in slow living, conscious travel, and circular reciprocity. I honor the lands that host me and strive to leave every place better than I found it.
